Shouldn't Be That Difficult
By Lynn Alex

We find time for many activities in our lives however when it comes to exercising we can't find enough time to commit to it on a regular basis. This is just a habit as anything else in life. We find time to take shower or brush our teeth. We developed these habits because we knew how important they are for our health. It is important to have the same attitude towards the fitness.

Regular exercise can help prevent many diseases, provide us with more energy and vitality so it is as important as any other activity that we find time to do daily. The most difficult part is to start. Here are some tips to help you get started:

1. Start slowly. Walking is a terrific way to keep oneself fit. Do what appeals to you, never force yourself into exercises you don't like or your body is not ready to perform. If you do this chances are high that you will injure yourself and stop exercising altogether. There are so many different exercises to choose from. Try yoga, Pilates, aerobics, aquafit and other classes offered at your local gym and choose ones that appeal to you. Try to do them 3-4 times a week.

2. Some people love to exercise alone, some prefer to do it with a group and others prefer to workout with a friend. See which one applies to you. If you prefer to workout with a friend, find one with the same interests. This way you'll motivate and encourage each other. Also the workout will become the time of socializing and you will look forward to it.

3. If music motivates you, get an mp3 player and listen to the energizing music while working out. This will increase your motivation. Also your favorite rhythms will help you to keep your body moving.

Once workout becomes an important part of your schedule and you develop a habit of exercising at least 3-4 times a week it will be much easier to continue. Even more, if you skip a day you will feel uncomfortable. It might take 3-4 months to get to this point but it is well worth it. This new habit will contribute to your health and well-being. It will also help you lose extra weight and maintain your ideal weight.
